Why you should train at BIGA.
Here is the blueprint of 10 reasons why you or your employer will be happy with your decision to train at BIGA.
1. BIGA hits the nail on the head: Our point of difference is our focus on the individual. We take the time to get to know each apprentice so that we can develop a customised training plan that best suits their needs. Wherever possible, students are allocated the same Trainer throughout trade specific models to optimise and personalise training delivery and outcomes.
2. BIGA has the sharpest trainers in the shed: Our experienced trainers are highly skilled, and have both extensive real-world industry and training experience. They have a passion for training, and for helping develop the careers of the industry’s current and future tradespeople, and take pride in maintaining currency with the industry through continuous professional development.
3. BIGA is more than bricks and mortar: Being ‘cemented’ in the industry for many years has its advantages. We have a long and proud association with industry representatives and experts, and as such, have access to up-to-date and relevant industry experience and knowledge. This in turn ensures that our curriculum remains both current, and incorporates all emerging industry and trade related developments.
4. BIGA is keen to get our hands dirty: We are not just about textbook and academic jargon. Whilst we do value the need to provide apprentices with theory, we place emphasis on teaching practical skills to develop apprentices with the ability to really contribute to their workplace and industry post completion of their apprenticeship.
5. BIGA keeps the concrete churning with customised training delivery: When apprentices arrive for their training block, their training log books and skill levels are assessed. Those apprentices that show higher skill and knowledge levels have the opportunity to finish early. This in turn allows them to return to work early or commence additional training (such options are coordinated in consultation with the employer).
6. BIGA talks the trade: Biga informs apprentices and employers of training requirements 6 weeks in advance, with reminders sent out 2 weeks prior. As a result we are able to remain flexible and can adjust the class numbers and attendees as close as 2 weeks out from training. Biga also has the capacity to work with larger clients, and augment existing curriculum to encapsulate any employer specific workplace requirements.
7. BIGA knows Queensland: We have training centres in Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Brendale and Salisbury. We can also deliver training at any number of other regional locations providing a sufficient number of apprentices are able to attend.
8. BIGA has better blocks: Our training blocks are limited to a maximum of 9 days, with a majority being 5 days. This optimises on the job training with the employer, and maximises the student’s ability to retain and implement training outcomes back at the worksite.
9. BIGA delivers on-site: In addition to customising training delivery in accordance with student skills and ability, we also have the capacity to deliver flexible on-the job training for larger employers (volume permitting), and to deliver theory based elements via correspondence (conditions apply), minimising downtime and off-the-job training requirements.
10. BIGA knows quality workmanship: We are committed to achieving quality outcomes in all facets of our business. We design our courses, deliver our training and manage our day to day operations with continuous improvement and quality assurance practices at the forefront of our decision-making. We systematically evaluate our services and resources to ensure we are continuously improving so that our apprentices and students have the best possible opportunity to excel in their chosen field.
